Skilled RF Field Technician
Radio Technician provides installation, maintenance and troubleshooting services to customers located across the US. Experience in the installation and or support of radio and related communications infrastructure, base station radios, and related remote control units (tone, dial-in, and/or IP), Land Mobile radio system experience is required.
Potential 50%+ US Travel, Possibly some International Travel, Valid US Passport Desired
Successful candidate will be required to travel approximately 50-75% of the time, including possible on-call rapid response during scheduled work hours. This individual should be able to work directly with customers in support of their repair/trouble needs and must coordinate with the home office, other technicians and engineers, and vendors for installation and repair services as required. Good people skills are a must.
1099, Full-Time and Hybrid/Remote Positions Available.
Technician I: 3-5 years of experience, one or more technician certifications from radio manufacturer, experience troubleshooting/triage of portable, mobile and base radios, experience in bench testing and board-level repairs a plus, at least 2 years of field experience with troubleshooting radio devices, installations, and relocation of customer RF equipment.
Technician II: 6-10 years of experience required with same standards for Technician I plus integration skills of disparate technologies, console manufacturer experience for command & control applications.
Senior Radio Technician: 10+ years of experience required with same standards for Technician II plus additional experience and certifications for IP-centric radio and console products and advanced RF diagnostic skills.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficiency in communications equipment installation of: Radio, Voice Communication System (VCS) / Console, Radio Frequency (RF) Cable, Antenna
- Land Mobile Radio (LMR), HF/VHF/UHF-AM, and Microwave experience preferred
- FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) and/or R56 Standard (Motorola) Certifications are highly preferred
Location:
ACG Systems Headquarters is located in Annapolis, MD, and utilizes a hybrid work model.
Compensation:
- Compensation is negotiable and highly competitive, contingent upon candidate’s relevant skills and the established work schedule (1099 vs. Full-Time)
- Full-time positions include benefits and bonuses
- Full benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, Disability, 401(k), and HAS.
