ACG Systems Completes Alaska Airlines Seattle Hub CrossBand Application Update

At their key Seattle–Tacoma International Airport hub, Alaska Airlines and ACG Systems have designed and implemented the CrossBand application to provide backup connectivity to all six (6) of their VHF-AM air/ground radios in case they lose network connectivity to their Avtec Scout IP Console system.  In the case of a network outage, access to the air/ground radios will be switched over to the CrossBand system enabling the Operations Command Center immediate and consistent, continued access to crew communication.

Products
ACG Systems has been providing our CrossBand system to airline customers for over 10 years.  The Crossband system addresses the challenges presented by reduced personnel and potentially unstaffed Operations offices.  The CrossBand technology enables Operations staff to receive air/ground pilot calls on their Motorola handheld radios while on the move.

Challenge
A long-time ACG customer, Alaska Airlines requested a new application for the CrossBand technology. The objective is to minimize the risk inherent with air/ground radios now being controlled via IP devices, dependent upon their company network.
