ACG Systems helps keep Lafayette Airport Renovation on Schedule

The Lafayette airport in Louisiana needed to demolish an existing building to make way for the first stages of building a new terminal.

The Challenge: Radio systems and datalink service providers were located in the same building scheduled for demolition. With a compressed schedule, the airport needed to move all of the radio systems quickly, but also needed to insure continuity of current airline operations. The airport and their contractors reached out to ACG Systems due their vast experience in the airport and airline environment.

With expertise in airline communications, RF engineering resources, and a deep pool of qualified technicians, ACG Systems was able to successfully coordinate the moving of all of the radio and antenna components to the new facility without a hitch. Working with the airport authority, the FAA, and ASRI, an antenna layout was created to minimize interference between the radio systems, and a rehearsed radio transition plan kept the airline and data carrier disruptions to an absolute minimum. Understanding how to work with all the regulatory agencies, the airlines, and the datalink service providers allowed ACG Systems to complete this project on budget and on time to keep the airport renovation project on schedule.
