Radio Over IP
RIP1 and RIP8 to replace NXU2
JPS Products were the basis of most of the early 2000 version analog to digital audio converters/gateways for radios as dispatch communications moved from analog TDM-based systems to TCP/IP networking. The NXU-2 (network extension unit) interfaced full duplex baseband audio and RS-232 data onto a TCP/IP Network.
As a replacement, the Orion Systems Radio Over IP (RIP1 and RIP8) devices interconnect a radio over a LAN/WAN Connection to Orion IP consoles and/or an IP Voice Communication Switch (IP-VCS).
